How it all started...
In 1938 an open air revival started on a vacant lot behind the Lawson Gin on West Henry Street. After the revival, Rev. Frank Stubblefield and Rev. Albert Berry started having regular services under the trees in the back yard of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Babbitt. This was in the northwest part of Hamilton. In the fall of 1938, land was donated in the northwest part of Hamilton, and the people obtained a loan and bought a building, moving it onto the land.
After the building was moved there, Rev. Frank Stubblefield and Rev. Albert Berry worked together for a short time. After a while, Rev. Frank Stubblefield and some of the people decided to move across town and start another work. Rev. Stubblefield rented a house on West Coke street. They started having services under a big live-oak tree in front of the house. This tree remains across the street directly adjacent the old entrance of the church.
The people purchased two lots at 724 West Coke. They erected a structure of poles and canvas, thus having a dirt floor, thus starting the official Victory Temple Church (PCG). Heat was provided by a stove made from an old barrel. There was a bad storm that tore the structure down, however the wind wrapped the canvas around the piano, and it came through the storm unharmed.
The people came together and constructed another building. They hauled rocks from the country and cemented them together for the floor. This new building with a canvas roof was constructed under the leadership of Rev. Stubblefield.
Under the pastoral leadership of Rev. W. L. Hluchan, there was a sheet metal roof and a wooden floor placed on the building. The church was heated a stove sitting in the middle of the aisle. Through the years the pastors were: Rev. & Mrs. Ruey Wallace, Rev. Davis, Rev. Harris, Rev. Turner, Rev. Bryant, Rev. Dodson, Rev. Lark and Easter Baker, Rev. T. E. and Eddy Ada Hollis.
In the early 1960's the Bakers started a building program. They moved the old building and constructed a new sanctuary 24 feet wide by 40 feet long. in 1965, the church elected Rev. Gilbert and Doris Donald as Pastor. In 1970 they doubled the sanctuary and added a small fellowship hall, Sunday School rooms, Pastor's Study, two Restrooms and a vestibule. In 1978 still under Rev. Donald's pastorate, they started another building expansion with 2200 Square feet of a new sanctuary with a baptistry and a larger nursery, all with heating and air conditioning. The old sanctuary became the large fellowship hall.
As of 2021, our ministry name is now the New Victory Christian Fellowship.

Expanding the vision...
Our vision expansion is to actively seek out those who need help, assisting them as we can, and thus showing the love of God to all we come in contact with. See our vision statement.
Loving all, is being an example of God, for God is love.
Loving all, is being an example of God, for God is love.
Where we are headed...
The New Victory Christian Fellowship's unending quest to find new souls for the Kingdom of God continues with outreaches, constant service to others and assistance to all who need it. Our Goal is to have everyone around us saved and ready to meet God in person.
Each and every person we come in contact with is a new prospect and a new opportunity to minister, help and/or witness. We pray for our City, our County, our State and our Nation to become righteous, and do righteous things.
