Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of the New Victory Christian Fellowship in Hamilton Texas, based on the foundational truths in the Holy Scriptures. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines and truths.
God
There is only one eternally existing true God called the Father (John 17:3); There are three distinct Godhead leaders called: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). The Son is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, though the power from the Father, (Colossians 1:16); Therefore God the Father is worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Hebrews 13:8)
Revelation
God the Father has revealed himself to us through his His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and shown in all of creation itself.
(Colossians 1:15)
(Colossians 1:15)
Mankind
Humans, both biological male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations. (Genesis 1:27)
The Fall
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time. (Romans 5:12)
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconnect or reconcile us with God. (John 3:17) He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. (Hebrews 9:12) The Father raised him from the dead (Matthew 28:6) and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who believe on and follow Christ by faith, as their Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9) That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone. (Acts 4:12)
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:20), sent into the world to glorify God the Father and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ with power. (Mark 16:15-18)
Ressurection
Jesus Christ is returning one day (Acts 1:11), to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth. (Revelations 20:6)
